Kurt again at his best at the right moment

Only 8 participants for this ZÈRTZ WC, but Friday, October 31, appeared to be a normal working day instead of a holiday - as we wrongly thought! - and that made that a number of the regular ZÈRTZ-enthusiastics were not able to be present.

Any way, the participants enjoyed their Round Robin confrontation and that is what matters most! Werner Dupont won against Kurt Van den Branden, but got beaten himself by 2 Dutchman: Fred Kok and the surprisingly strong Arnoud Duyvesteyn. Michael Reitz, the favourite, faced defeats against Kurt and Werner. Kurt became World Champion with 6 wins. Werner and Michael ended both with 5 wins but Werner had won his match against Michael, so he got the silver and Michael the bronze. Also Arnoud performed very strong, but came just a bit short for a medal.

Conclusion: fine tournament, good atmosphere, good play and good players!
